Mcintyre, M. (2016, January 20). Mother pleads guilty after children found unattended in squalid conditions. Winnipeg Free Press. Retrieved from http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/Woman-admits-to-keeping-children-in-deplorable-conditions--365963631.htmlThis article talks about a woman who violates the Child and Family Act as well as Animal Care Act by locking her three children in a room with filthy conditions. The room had garbage all over and feces all over the flow. There were also bedbugs crawling the dirty mattress and wall of the room. The children were too uncomfortable to stay there but unfortunately they had stayed there for hours. A neighbour who heard them calling for help through the open window of the room called the police and the investigators, according to Mcintyre, (2016) found an awful scene.
The correct procedures were followed where the woman was arrested and arraigned in court where she was charged for violating the two mentioned acts. She pleaded guilty but her lawyer pleaded with the judge not to put a criminal record on her and instead release her to serve a community service sentence outside jail. The purpose of the article is to educate people on the existence of the laws and regulations that protect the family and even the animals against unfair treatment and warn them that breaking those laws can attract a jail sentence. In this article, the alternative of outside jail term is being explored as an alternative instead of serving in-prison jail term considering that the woman has to continue serving the public and her productivity reaped by the state.

Almuneef, M., & Al-Eissa, M. (2011). Preventing child abuse and neglect in Saudi Arabia: are we ready? Annals of Saudi medicine, 31(6), 635.
This article discusses a case study regarding the child protection services and regulations that have been followed by Saudi Arabia in dealing with the violence against children with regard to the international laws and regulations regarding children protection against maltreatment and abuse. Almuneef and Al-Eissa are researchers who have PhDs in conducting research in social sciences and a number of great writers have cited their works and therefore, this source is credible because it has even been published by the Annals of Saudi Medicine. This article is helpful to my topic of discussion because it helps to inject the view of the outside world to the issues in family management and the laws as well as policies that have been put in place to protect children against unfair treatment.
Cross, T. P., Mathews, B., Tonmyr, L., Scott, D., & Ouimet, C. (2012). Child welfare policy and practice on children's exposure to domestic violence. Child abuse & neglect, 36(3), 210-216.
This article gives a review of the violence experienced on youth in Australia, Canada and USA. The articles explains the policies that are being used and the procedures being taken to correct the situation and prevent more cases of child and youth maltreatment and abuse and also reviews the provisions of the law in the three countries regarding principles of family management. The authors of this article are authorities in the interpretation of the laws in the three countries especially the sections of the constitutions that deal with uses on human rights. They are human rights experts and as hence the source is credible. The article is relevant to my topic of discussion because its content helps to narrow down to the details of the constitutional provisions regarding children and their rights which act as the base for decision-making in the areas of family management.

The authors main point in this article is the actions taken as a way of preventing possible child abuse or neglect by taking custody of the other children in the home where one boy was beaten to an extent of having two strokes during treatment. The source is credible in that it has been published by a renowned new publisher, Tusla World which deals with collection and publication of factual stories regarding issues across human life, family issues included. Stacy Ryburn is a world staff writer who has experience in doing research on family issues and legal framework regarding those issues. I think that this source will be useful in explaining the correct procedures that can be taken in accordance to the law in order to protect children against abuse or neglect in homes where there are signs of such possibilities.
