The brand name for the drug is Xanax, Xanax XR, Niravam. The drug is an anti-anxiety that is found in the family of benzodiazepine. The drug is used for treating anxiety and panic attacks. The side effects of the drug if taken on low doses include lightheadedness and drowsiness. If the drug is taken in high doses, the side effects include memory loss, fatigue, constipation, and change in appetite. The drug is usually excreted by a nursing mother, and that means that it affects the infant. Xanax is not good for women who are nursing.
