Introduction

In one way or another, computing and IT disciplines are slowly transforming entrepreneurial, governmental and organizational structures by incorporating technological principles creating improvements. One of the supporting technologies in businesses transformations includes the model-driven transformation technique. This technique is multilayered. The main objective is to link the semantics of business to IT. In the model, the top most layer is real semantics in a format that the managers and the analysts within an organization can understand. In this layer, business activities and processes take place (Venkatraman, 1994). Key performance indicators, governance and value drives are also some of the aspects of this layer. The layers that follow represent IT technology incorporation within the organization. The structure appears as a wide range of services that are implemented in the structural form of an IT service-oriented architecture. The project is driven by the objectives that would enable IT-based solutions to get driven by the intent of the business (Lee, 2005).

The key functionality of this model is based on the fact that organizational structures are linked in meaningful ways so that one layer of the model can replicate onto the other and still produce the desired outcome. The model also includes an area in which businesses and organizations apply the semantics of web technology. A convergence of both the full aspects of IT and the business semantics will, therefore, occur to produce brilliant service oriented structures. Work is in the process. Technologists are busy trying to make general all processes within businesses and automating them via IT. The solutions generated will reflect the original semantics of all forms of businesses in a rather modernized way. It is via this tremendous breakthrough in design transformation that the gap that earlier existed between the field of IT and business will be reduced (Venkatraman, 1994). A maintainable relationship between business designs and IT solutions is therefore achieved. Other sectors that have componentized this approach towards bettering the services offered include the consulting industry. Such industries are now able to achieve operational efficiency, be flexible and enhance their objectives and fine-tune their focuses (Lee, 2005). There happens to be a wide range of IT potential that benefits business institutions and the degree to which the organizations are transformed.

Conclusion

IT has been identified as a fundamental tool for creating and maintaining distinct and flexible business networks. A model that divides IT-enabled businesses into layers of operation is identified as the key change provider. It is evident how modern innovation has led to business growth all over the world. Earlier, starting and running businesses was very difficult. With the advent of web-based approaches and IT configuration into the traditional semantics of businesses, advanced payment methods, fast and secure purchase and delivery services are available too. While some of the processes have not changed a bit, a major facelift over the past few years is evident in business practices. The breakthrough is realized through the incorporation of technology other forms of IT applications.
