Introduction

It is in the year 2130 and U.S.S. Palomino, which is an exploratory spaceship, is returning from a mission of exploring deep space. The crew is made up of Captain Dan Holland, Charlie Pizer who is the first Lieutenant, Harry Booth who is a journalist, Kate McCrae an ESP-sensitive scientist, Dr. Alex Durant who is an expedition civilian leader, and V.I.N.C.E.N.T., the acronym for Vital Information Necessary Centralized; is a robot. While on its journey, the crew of Palomino gets an alert on the presence of a black hole, and apparently, near this hole, there is another ship called U.S.S. Cygnus is a direct ship that can defy the gravitational pull of the hole. Palomino ship gets damaged as its crew members try to investigate U.S.S. Cygnus. They are forced to use U.S.S. Cygnus to dock with it.

The Black Hole - Palomino Crew

While in the U.S.S. Cygnus, the Palominos crew discover faceless drones that are depicting human-like behaviors, making them be worried. B.O.B (Bio-sanitation Battalion) which is also a robot similar to V.I.N.C.E.N.T. reveals to Kate what faceless drones entail. As the events continue unfolding, Durant is killed by Maximillian as he tries to run away with Kate, against the wish of Reinhardt. Reinhardt opts to take Kate as the prisoner and gives orders for her to be taken to the hospital and be lobotomized. However, along with V.I.N.C.E.N.T. and B.O.B, Kate is rescued by Holland. As they try to escape using Palomino, Reinhardt gives orders for this craft to be shot down. This backfires since the firing of the weapon damage the port-side anti-gravity force field generator. The starboard generator is also damaged by a meteor storm. This makes the Cygnus lose its null-gravity bubble, making it be torn apart by the black hole.

The Black Hole Final Scene

Reinhardt, together with survivors of the Palomino crew include Probe Ship in their escape plan. As Maximillian goes ahead to prepare the probe ship, Reinhardt gets pinned by the falling debris. This makes his lobotomized crew remain standstill, watching him struggle to free himself from the debris. Pizer, Holland, McCrae, Kate, and V.I.N.C.E.N.T. finally manage to escape the black hole. Reinhardt and Maximillian are left behind as they perish in the land that was burning due to the remains of the Cygnus. The probe ship traverses various universes and lastly, it is seen flying towards another planet.

Astronomical-Related Aspects in the Black Hole Movie

Astronomy is the study of heavenly, celestial, or space objects. These objects include stars, galaxies, moons, meteors, comets, and planets. There are various elements in the Black Hole movie that are related to astronomy. In this movie, there has been the mentioning of some space objects. For instance, a black hole is a space object. It is a region of space-time that displays gravitational effects of huge magnitude making it impossible for anything to escape from inside it. The U.S.S. Palomino spaceship gets trapped in this black hole. However, U.S.S. Cygnus is a ship that has been structured with a null-gravity bubble in its starboard generator, making it defy the gravitational pull of the black hole. After the starboard generator has been destroyed, U.S.S. Cygnus loses its null-gravity bubble making it be torn apart by the high gravitational pull of the black hole.

Disney Black Hole Movie: Meteor Scene

Another part of the move that is related to astronomy is the presence of the meteor storm. Meteor storm is considered to be an event in space that involves the radiating of some meteors, making them move from one point to another in the sky. In the movie, the happening of a meteor storm leads to the damaging of the starboard generator of the U.S.S. Cygnus. The damaging of the starboard generator by the meteor storm makes the spaceship lose its null gravity, leading to its destruction.

Spaceships in Black Hole Movie

The use of the spaceships in this movie also highlights its inclination to astronomy. U.S.S. palomino and U.S.S. Cygnus are some of the spaceships in the movie. These spaceships have crew members who can be thought to be astrologists since they are traversing the space. There is also the probe ship, which is mainly used by space travelers as part of the exit plan in case the spaceship has failed. The probe ship is also considered to be a robotic spacecraft, making it navigate space and interplanetary space with ease. Spaceships are vital for astrologists since they make them traverse the space and carry their studies on the space objects.

Conclusion

After surviving the attack by the crew of the U.S.S. Cygnus, Pizer, Holland, McCrae, Kate, and V.I.N.C.E.N.T continue with their mission. They emerge from the white hole and continue flying through space as they head towards the planet that is depicted to be close to a bright star. The white hole is also a region in the space, where it cannot be entered from outside. Unlike a black hole, matter and light can escape from the white hole.

All these elements make the black hole movie be identified with astronomy. It has various parts that are related to the aspects of astronomy.
