Summary of the Findings

It was important for the study to, first of all, evaluate the nurses baseline knowledge as the study was targeting the nurses who were practicing nursing. It was significant because, after the study, relevant knowledge improvement among the nurses could be initiated for the gaining of positive palliative care (Tilsley, 2016). Assessment of the knowledge was, therefore, of great importance because they play a crucial role in the improvement of health in the society. It was found out that it is important to improve the nurses knowledge to achieve the positive palliative care as 46.7% of the respondents tied the improved nurses knowledge with the improved palliative care as opposed to 20.0% who gave their contrary opinions. Thus, for the society to achieve the positive palliative care and enable patients to gain positive conditions during the treatment, nurses should be encouraged to continuously improve their knowledge. They can go for training in higher institutions of learning or can also go for training in health care facilities providing the palliative care to the patients.

Furthermore, it was also found out that improved knowledge results in the positive healthcare care among the patients in the hospitals. When nurses have good knowledge, they will be in the position to execute their activities effectively and can thus produce good results. Nurses who have knowledge on the palliative care are in the position to create a good relationship with the family and thus get to understand the history of the patient (Tilsley, 2016). It is imperative because an efficient and effective way of producing good health care results is achieved. Inadequate knowledge among the nurses has been a challenge regarding the improvement of the health care and provision of quality healthcare as well. It is imperative for all the nurses to provide quality healthcare services since it leads to general improvement of health in the society.

Among the selected individuals, the majority of them argued that there is good association among the nurses and the knowledge improvement. When nurses have gained enough knowledge regarding the palliative care, they will be in the position to ensure that the patients receive the care they deserve (Ayed et.al, 2015). In this case, therefore, the healthcare, the patient's condition of care improves when close monitoring is dispense towards the patients suffering from particular conditions. Close monitoring is significant because it provides a conducive environment to the patients to heal and recover quicker.

The study was significant because it improved evaluated the conditions that can be done to encourage the patients and families facing some particular problems in the society. Some life-threatening illnesses can undermine an individual and make him or her loose hope in life. The palliative care is significant because it provides hopes to patients who are viewed as they are close to death (Ayed et.al, 2015). The assessment of the nurses knowledge towards the palliative care and thus recommend the important ways of improving the nurse's knowledge to have good knowledge and handling the patients on palliative care efficiently. The knowledge that can be improved among the nurses will regard the psychological, spiritual and emotional knowledge and this encourages them to get close to the patients and provide advice and hope to such patients.
