GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) is a joint venture established by two Corporations Hitachi, Ltd. and General Electric Company in July 2007, with the aim of providing services to the global nuclear industry ("GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy," 2016). According to their website GE-Hitachi is among the worlds leading broad plant manufacturers, with activities in the planning, design, development, production, inspection, connection, and maintenance of nuclear reactor-related services and equipment. The nuclear joint venture is based on a single, strategic vision to produce a wider range portfolio of solutions, increasing its capabilities for new reactor and service related opportunities. According to Energy (2013), the merger of management resources between the two companies combines GEs engineering expertise and global experiences of supplying reactors, fuels and services with Hitachis renowned experience in innovative modular engineering to provide worldwide customers with the technological direction needed to efficiently improve reactor performance, power production, while enhancing the safety of the technology.
The interest to GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy is motivated by my passion career of being a nuclear engineer. The excitement of a career in the nuclear sector is inspired by the observation and research that environmentally benign features of nuclear power, as matched to other energy sources are of significant value to our society for sustainability. The use of nuclear power can contribute to the responsible utilization of natural resources and the reduction of climate change. However, nuclear sector operating organizations should be aware of the adverse safety and proliferation risks associated with nuclear activities, the sophistication of the technology, and most importantly maintaining an ethical code of conduct in which society has placed trust in them. Therefore, the only expected and accepted organization approach of doing nuclear services and product related business is with high ethical values in all respects. Every contemporary organization entity must nurture a good environment for creativity and excellence encouraging ample independence and authority to its employees at all levels. However, it must also create acceptable, appropriate, effective monitoring and control systems that will ensure its business operations are properly piloted within the legal and ethical, regulatory framework. They include the moral values that direct the way organization or other business make decisions. Culture ethics is the behavior that an organization observes in its everyday activities with the world. The cultural ethics of an organization can be diverse. They not only shape the organization interactions with the world at large but also to their dealings with its customer. Good cultural ethics should be a part of all organization activities.
GE-Hitachi ethical cultures are drawn from the quality policy as a key objective for the organization and employees to attain maximum nuclear safety at all stages of business operation, which is the source of quality management. The organizations safety and quality policy are accepted as a total commitment to raise constantly the awareness of nuclear safety. Therefore, it is intended that implementing its policy to the whole organization gives support to the nuclear safety culture (Energy, n.d.).
In relation to quality policy for its nuclear facilities, the organization is investing heavily to ensure that actions aimed at promoting its safety culture are involved in daily quality assurance practices. GE-Hitachi continues to support activities meant to uphold its safety culture focused on its compliance activities. Examples of such activities, involves creating ethical awareness by giving a Corporate Ethics Compliance Card and having compliance education frequently. Other activities involve cultural Ethic seminars, presentations by executives on the value of comprehensive ethical compliance, conducting preventive ethics education emphasizing the necessity to perform work in a way that business ethics are the key principles for decision making.

According to the chairman of GE-Hitachi .the organization collects periodical reports on activities such as preventative maintenance at new and existing plants from the employees responsible for their respective work (Planet, 2014).In case there is an incident of a product accident; an accident incident notice will be circulated promptly. After such accident notice is circulated, the organization receives reports on the current information concerning the relations with customers impacted by the accident and the organization response status. The organization often stresses to its employees the importance of reporting every type of problems. This concept leads the organization to develop a reporting culture of most problems allowing GE-Hitachi to plan effective measures against them.
GE-Hitachi has also devoted publicly to a human rights activism. The organization objective is to nurture a culture of awareness, understanding and commitment to human rights at all organization levels.
