The year 2014 came to me as a shock; it was a year that I was completing my accounting course and heading up to look for a job. I knew the best strategy is to start preparing early since most people will be graduating with the same degree as mine. Moreover, a high population of people who had graduated earlier still could be seen walking along the street looking for jobs. Therefore, I realized the best way out is that of being unique. I understood the fact that we all have the same skills and hence the best plan for success is to understand the interviewing process in each of my target institution. I love accounting and since I was a kid, it was my dream career. Now I have it and the next move matters a lot; I needed the feeling of being in control and hence sitting on the couch and giving guidelines and procedures seems fine. First, I analyzed the position various companies are offering with regard to my profession. I evaluated the title, the qualifications as well as the responsibilities.

Moreover, I took time to understand the company culture; to survive in any organization one requires to understand the way people interact and live among together for the benefit of the corporation. In addition, I evaluated my competitors. I wanted to know what they have. It was a good move since it helped me to understand what I did not have and what it takes for me to win the race. However, interview questions vary in some ways depending on the position one is vying for. Meanwhile, there are some of the questions that are alike. For instance, the question on why one is looking for a new chance is the same in all companies. Also, the question on strength may be similar to all corporations. Therefore, I was prepared with answers for all the basic questions. In addition, the scheduling process for an interview is of much importance when preparing for an interview. To announce or even advertise a position and get respondent, takes much time and effort. Therefore, I realized that most institution take time to remind the applicants in advance for an interview. Before the exact interviewing day, I would receive frequent emails to alarm me of the big day of the interview from my applied institutions. Furthermore, the process of evaluating applicant needs much time before it is implemented. The team responsible for the evaluation first takes time to understand the vacant position and the qualifications. Therefore, they use the qualifications to factor out applicant until they find the one who better suits their needs.

Reflections:

I have learned that there many people who graduate each year but they find it hard to get their dream job. They spend most of their time walking in offices trying to convince the employers of their competence on their related course. However, it does not only take the skills one get in class to survive in life but also the strength to face each day as well as believing in oneself. On the other hand, most employers are struggling to find competitive personnel who could possibly change the face of their company and also raise its overall reputation. Therefore, the same way most people are finding it hard to get their career job; it is the same way employers struggle to find the people with better skills at the right time.

Generalizations/Principles/Theories:

Whether applying for a job or seeking to employ individuals, one faces challenges. However, it requires one to carefully identify the position he/she holds in order to come up with the strategy of achieving the best results ever. Moreover, prior planning is necessary if any person operating in a business schedule wants to survive. I realized that most people who applied for a job in my field never planned before. As a result, interviewing process came to them as a shock and hence absorbing it took much time. Therefore, what people have failed to understand is that all employers expect some serious applicants to turn up but only the qualified few will get the job. Thus, it is the responsibility of each individual to understand the outcomes he/she expects with respect to proper planning.

Testing and Application:

Though I had a lot to do in my last year of studies, I could not let that entire staff get the better of me. I knew the competition in the job market was real and not a mare tale. Therefore, I decided to plan early and understand all that it takes to win the employers mind. I took time to understand what most employers in my field expected of me. However, I considered accounting to be my life and hence I knew it is my only way to getting what have really worked for in many years. I took the initiative of writing my plan and making it workable as the time elapsed. It was my chance to be unique and surpass the minds of other people who could rarely understand the struggle in the market.

Subtopic 2: Steps to follow compliance and ethical consideration

Description of concrete experience:

While I had clear insight of how to prepare for an interview, I realized the importance of understanding the compliance and ethical consideration in an interview. I knew it was not over with only evaluating the process of interviewing, I had a long way before I get the real thing into operational. I had some experiences in some of the interviews I attended earlier. They never related to my dream job but I realized how most of the interviewers disregarded the ethics of an interview. First, I realized the act of job posting was not done correctly in some of the areas. For instance, most people argue that they never had the idea of some of the positions. I also saw the same thing happen while I was searching for a job after I had completed my degree course; job posting was done within specific areas. The employers considered certain groups with regard to their interests and hence dishonoring the ethics required to follow an interview. In addition, the interviewer should consider the interview questions with regard to the personnel present. The interviewee should not in any case be disappointed by the questions. Therefore, such questions need to be precisely related to the posted job; any question that seems personal is regarded unprofessional and various measures should be taken.

Reflections:

As I familiarized with the ethics in an interviewing process, I understood that most people do not fail in their profession due to lack of skills or even knowledge. Most of the applicants fail due to the fact that they do not understand the real meaning of ethics as well as how they should be treated during an interview and prior interview. Interviewers can cost the life of an applicant if he/she has no idea of the whole thing. Therefore, I thought that people need help; they need to be enlightened on the consideration and ethics that follow an interview process so as to have honesty among all institutions. Furthermore, every person needs the best and hence there is no need to deny someone happiness after working for it.

Generalizations/Principles/Theories:

However, when beginning the process of recruiting employees, it is significant to be aware of various legal issues that in one way or the other minimize the potential risks. First, I learned that job posting is one of the acts that most employers fail to respect. However, it is one of the issues that form the bases of the recruiting process. In addition, while offering any job employers must be willing to consider various aspects among the applicants, compare them and at last make a precise choice with regard to the expected performances. As a result, the choice must be adhering to the professional ethics of an interview. The approach assures applicants of honesty and hence they easily appreciate the results.

Testing and Application:

Since I knew everything about compliance and ethical consideration, I realized I had a good chance to question any inconvenience during the interview process. Moreover, I questioned some of my friends to understand the experiences they had during their interviews. It was my chance of enlightening them and making them understand where they went wrong or even the instances they performed better. Moreover, I took the initiative of evaluating some of the jobs posted before. I wanted to understand how various institutions post their job vacancies and the frequent mistakes that arise in some of them. In addition, it was my chance to stay on top and beat all my competitors. I wanted the job and hence I would do anything to get it. Therefore, I was keen in all interviews I attended in order to keep my skills growing for a better tomorrow.

Subtopic 3: Communication skills and strategies that encourage the interviewee to talk

Description of concrete experience:

Since had learnt a lot relating to interview in my previous levels, good communication skills and strategies that encourage the interviewee to talk were not new to me. While I was joining college, I can recall the interviewer who wanted to understand my competence and proficiency. He had the knowledge and skills of asking questions that he expected me to answer with courage as well as showing competence in my interests. I realized that as much as I wanted to pass the text, I needed to have the ability to communicate with strangers. In addition, I took the initiative of analyzing all the communication skills that interviewer expected. First, I knew it is important to research and make notes about the people or person with whom one will be speaking to. Having the knowledge of who to meet in the interview room gives one the courage and the ability to answer each question correctly. Moreover, I confronted some of the interviewers and asked some questions. From the few that I confronted, I realized that the best way of killing in an interview is by making it conversational. Furthermore, have applied the same strategy in some of the interviews before and seen it working. Also, the strategy of flexible listening has proved to work on my different occasions. I understood that for better answering of questions, it requires someone to listen and contemplate the size of each question carefully.

Reflections:

As I reviewed the different communication skills and strategies that an interviewer expects from an interviewee, I realized that there is a lot to learn as far as interviews are concerned. In some cases, interviewees lack the courage to answer questions not because they do not have the answers but because they have no idea of what it entails. Most people who fail in their interviewing process tend to have the least idea of the whole matter. Therefore, I would suggest that those people who have prospered in their career to take the initiative of enlightening graduates before they encounter any of the interviews. All my success and opportunities that I have encountered in my past life can be traced from the successful people. In addition, I have come along many people who have the same experience as mine whom we share our achievements and also try to evaluate the failures for better outcomes in the future.

Generalizations/Principles/Theories:

However, communication is the key to the success of any interview; individuals who have passed most of the interviews in history have the best communication skills. Furthermore, employers need someone who has the potential to stand firm and defend the position of a corporation. I realized the same when undergoing my interview for my job. I had to convince the interviewer who happens to be my employer that I have the full competence to sustain the company and ensure a continuous trend in the profit growth. Moreover, the interviewer texted me on courage to answer questions and back up my answers; as a result, I knew that a good employee must be in a position to defend th...
