The proportion of the population that is labeled as aged is speedily growing and increasing globally (Barnay, Thomas, and Sandrine 150). Thus the very progressive incidents of various, normal infirmity states need to be looked at alongside the upsurge of the aged population. In the advanced countries, older individuals are regarded as the main consumers of medications and healthcare resources. Consequently, an assumption has been proposed that the rise in life expectancy comes with the upsurge in the availability of medications and hence the usage of these medications increases with the said population leading to frequent inappropriate medicine prescription occasions. The essay, therefore, seeks to illustrate how homecare offers families peace of mind when it comes to the care of the elderly.

With the dawn of advanced expertise, social liberation and fast wandered lifestyles; family arrangements have changed significantly to adapt to the surroundings in which they live. Some of the common forms that have emerged recently are that of fewer offspring, working parentages and elder family members of the household residing in nursing homes (Jing, et al 25). Despite the primeval belief of this being the appropriate care, families should continuously care for the aging members through home care. There are actual motives for such a preparation as it is right for each person involved (Job, et al 170).

Home care is a type of upkeep that allows persons with precise special requirements to stay within their homes relating with other communal patients residing within the same locality. Home care is the care that is given to the enormous population which is getting aged or those persons that are habitually ill or individuals that are fully recuperating from serious curative activities for example surgeries and also the care given to the incapacitated as a whole (Hussain, et al 260).

With home care, families will not have to constantly worry about how their elderly parents are taken care of as it eliminates the vice of loneliness as the elderly can spend time with their grandchildren. The elderly take the time to educate the youngsters with their narration of the stories of the 21st century to the children. The children can benefit with this program as well as the elderly (Job, et al 170). Such an arrangement helps in maintaining the physical and emotional well-being of their mental ability. The behavior of the elderly at some point does resemble that of the children and therefore they bond well with the youngsters (Jing, et al 25).

Patients in home care enjoy a range of different types of services from their homes, unlike other nursing homes which offer health care amongst the aging population and in general, other patients. Cooking or supplying of meals, Cleaning activities or compound improvement, house making that includes laundry, basic personnel care which involves hair washing, bathing of patients or dressing them are some of the important home care services extended and enjoyed by the elderly population (Hussain, et al 260). Even though some of these services may be found in the nursing homes, they are not eloquently administered as in home care. Such services within the nursing home environment are very expensive to acquire as one needs to hire skilled personnel of which their salaries are quite high when compared to the services they provide.

From their home environ, the aged population can acquire any assistance they required. Some of the services that may be extended to them are in their favor as some services may be donated or can be free services (Barnay, Thomas, and Sandrine 150). The services can be from government agencies and other helpful schemes that try to help the elderly individuals through covering the costs concomitant with the home care services. Such services are unlikely to be found in the nursing homes as they have to take carefully of their bills.

Globally, a vast majority of the aging individuals choose to age from their home places while residing with the family members (Hussain, et al 260). This has been expedited with the presence of massive resources that are available, and this, therefore, helps them to participate actively in the undertaking of their drug and medical therapy at the convenience of their homes. As experts have indicated, aging from home is much easier with the veracious amount of substantial planning both in developing and developed countries. The due diligence and information gathering from family members make the elderly patients feel happier and safe as they feel best wanted, unlike the nursing homes whereby they are left to nurse themselves (Job, et al 170).

In most cases, the personnel that might indulge in taking care and administering home care are very skilled and more often mien their services ominously with every important procedure being monitored as most of them quintessence on a particular patient or a certain number of patients. With these, there is the creation of health expert- aging population patient connection that might promote apt drug therapy amongst the said population with the reduction of the factors which may lead to the rise to the prevalence of the age-related adverse medication responses (Hussain, et al 260). The personnel is highly skilled with expertise expansively distributed from the high specialized home healthiness care services and the rendering of care with assistive technologies, securities within and nearby the home of the patient with very vital stratagems of getting prepared and organized before any unfamiliar crisis occur. With this, it is different in the nursing homes as in some cases; they solve the crisis as they arise.

Ostensibly, the families of the elderly become more contented as they feel that they are valuing their parents with home care. Worldwide, many people believe that it is their responsibility to provide care for their aging relatives and parents and this in most cases can only be done pretty well within a home environment (Jing, et al 25). Arguably, no person can diminish the importance of a close relative or the family members at the presence of a sick or the elderly individual more so the expenses.

In most cases, home care will reduce the stress related to huge expenses as the relatives or family members take the responsibility of catering the bills of the elderly through the paying of their rents and medicines. In cases where the elderly individuals lack or have a limited number of family members, friends, and close family friends chip in to provide the needed assistance. Such an assistance provided by the family friend goes a long way in aiding the recuperation of the elderly as they feel acknowledged and wanted. In nursing homes, it is difficult for the elderly without the family members to survive. They are required to pay their bills of which they cannot manage, and this creates massive problems for them. With the lack of funds, they are denied the needed attention, therefore, accelerating their demise.

Homecare environments in most cases create an emotional well-being for the elderly which in turn make families happy as compared to nursing homes. Nursing homes in most cases are depicted to having many negative inferences for most people, and this, therefore, affects the patients and the elderly within the facility. The recovery time for the elderly within the nursing home may take long as some of them feel that they are still in the hospital. The standard of mental health is concomitant with the rate of recovery of the patient (Hussain, et al 260). With this, therefore, most elderly individuals prefer being at home than in nursing homes. Even though they meet people with the problems like the one they are having, it does not provide them with the needed psychological health required for their fast recovery. They just feel sorry for being in that state.

An alternative to nursing homes are ageing independently, home modifications, helpful objects that aide in hearing and vision, assistance with foods through different food services, cleaning services from agents, transportation services in the form of a private driver, cottage options, geriatric care manager to help the elderly shop for grocery and lastly but not least adult day care to remove boredom (Jing, et al 25). Provision of all this can aid the elderly in several ways and more so serve as a substitute to nursing homes.

In some cases, the older population within the society sometimes tends to show the signs of depression thereby becoming lonely as a result of their health which has adversely changed from what they were used to (Dhargave, Pradnya, and Ragupathy). Again, within the recent society, the younger generation mostly prefers working other than remaining at home and thus, these makes the aged feel excluded compared to times when they are around homes. The families at present are less bonding, and this brings about a culture of not spending time together. A combination of a professional package from the retirement institutions and the childrens emotional companionship is an ultimate solution to solving the issue of aging and the society ought to play a fundamental role (Jing, et al 25).

Overall, the unbiased unification of both specialized service from different housing amenities like nursing homes and the emotional camaraderie from the offsprings and relatives are vital and important in deciphering the crisis of the aging populace (Dhargave, Pradnya, and Ragupathy). Viewing from all sides, it is of greater advantage for the elderly to live at home with their families. During the times of harsh economic circumstances, only a few persons can manage to keep their aged within the superior housing facilities that are meant to provide the needed health care. Local authorities need to engross the elderly population within the community in the number of structured communal programs which provide the elderly a chance in which they converse extensively concerning different corresponding matters with other fellows of the public. With these, the elderly will be better off when they are involved in the home care situations.
