The A-PREP is a thorough scientific process that helps to identify the individuals that contain the required physical demands that the police need. The purpose of this test is to ensure that the individual applying for the policing position is medically fit. Its other purpose is to ensure that the individuals physical abilities are assessed.

The applicants that hope to become law enforcement officers during this test must ensure that the individuals are clad in their exercise clothing. They are to wear their running shoes and complete it with the entire attire. However, before the candidate can participate in the A-PREP, they have to complete the Physical Activities Readiness, Questionnaire. This assessment helps to identify the medical conditions of the applicants. This helps to prevent and avoid any medical issues that might pose a threat to the applicants. For instance, the questionnaire may contain questions such as: has your doctor ever said that you have heart conditions, and also that the only physical activity must be recommended by a doctor?

The assessment targets the people who are willing to become full police officers. It targets the people who are clearly out of school. This test helps give them an opportunity to build a career. It is not limited to age as long as one is legally an adult. It is comprises of several components that help the police in their day to day life. The first component is the Pursuit and restraint circuit. This component helps to simulate an emerging situation, where they pursue an offender. They must go past the four sets of stairs and eventually be involved in the physical restraint.

Another component is the aerobic fitness test. This test helps to gauge the aerobic fitness of the applicant. It also helps to assess the physical ability of the applicant and their resilience to work in the harsh conditions that characterize the policing profession. The test involves running back and forth over 20 meters in times with recorded audio.

In order to prepare for this test, the applicants are encouraged to carry out exercise programs that help them with muscle building and strength. The applicants must frequently exercise, at least twice every week. They must also incorporate sets into their working out routines. The sets should increase with time. Another way to prepare is to ensure repetition of a certain form of exercise before they go on to another set. The applicants must ensure that they get ample rest after each set. Finally, the applicants should warm up for ten minutes before every workout.

It is clear that the process of joining the law enforcement forces is a cunning and complex one. Therefore, the applicant should make sure that they are conversant about the kind of test that follows. This can be done through internet searches and reading. The applicants must ensure that they are both physically, mentally, and medically fit.
