Legalization is to use, poses, and acquire a certain drug with restrictions in place such as the manner, place, and time to use the drug. The cost and benefits of the drugs or the use of drugs is almost the same. In such terms, when the analysis is done to estimate the one which is higher than the other it is found that there is none outweighs the other. A policy that has a net social benefit, which is positive, and it is socially desirable than its sum of harms and costs should be less as compared to the positive benefits (Cato Institute, Boaz, & Cato Institute, 2013, p.161). In the verdict, the difference between the costs and benefits was positive in all policies. However, drugs are important when comes to the medical records.

As per the legalization of drugs, David Boaz had the better argument in his book of free America. Boaz claims that people have the right to live the way they want as much as they are not violating other peoples equal rights (Cato Institute, Boaz, & Cato Institute, 2013, p. 38, 90). The failure of prohibition goals made people continue with the manufacturing and use of drugs hence making financial incentives out of it so there is no need of illegalizing even if it. In that regard, Boaz came up with several reasons as to why drugs should legalize. The following are some of the reasons, prohibition does not work nowadays, global implications, race, and drugs restore our responsibility and rights. Make all drugs that are used to safer, arrange for access to truthful education and information, the majority is drug users, reduce massive crimes, and addressing what the real issue is.

Boaz claims that even if legalization is not a cure but it gives people room to address some of the problems created by prohibition and those associated with the use of drugs. In such terms, one should ask himself/ herself the essence of banning drugs, if prohibition does not work. In that conjunction, it will be easy for one to seek for an alternative policy other than being redundant at one position while the problem is increasing every day.

Legalization is good when comes to global implications as it removes the producer nations from the political interference of the foreign countries, corruption rates and brings back the revenue lost to the taxed economy. Legalization helps to remove Racism when comes to the side of drugs. In that case, it is [proven that black are more likely to be jailed than the white people and that is discrimination of the highest order. In such terms, with drug legalization in place, it can remove the set of laws that are disproportionate to the blacks and have contact with systems of criminal justice. let the nation concentrate on addressing the drug issue following the above as a way of educating people making the awareness instead of concentrating on restrictions only while leaving other stones unturned.
