The organizational behavior of any company is a direct determinant to whether the firm becomes successful or fails in its activities since the workers are the major drivers of its activities (word-press, 1). It is the role of managers to ensure they have the best organization culture in order to create a favorable environment for the advancement of their institutions. In this paper, the organizational behavior of Google will be investigated as it is rated as one of the most successful companies in the world. It is believed that this success is attributed to its well organized culture in all their practices. Some of this practices that contributes to its success will be addressed below.

In Google, there is an elaborate human resources department that tries to maximize the potential of its employees. According to Jihoon, (2013) this department has established well organized data sources and analytical methods of making accurate people management decisions in the company. As such, Google is able to determine the retention patterns of its employees and they can easily predict when one of them wants to leave the company. A particular instance that illustrates this culture and its impact is the implementation of a five months maternity leave for its female employees. Google identified that many women were leaving the company due to pregnancy and they therefore increased the maternity leave period from the normal three months to five and they ended up retaining their female workers.

Another organization behavior that is linked with Googles success is its casual and democratic atmosphere (Jihoon, 2013). The structure of management in Google can be described as flat as there are very few top managers rather, all workers are treated on a level platform. This structure makes all employees feel equal and they can therefore easily share their views and make decisions as a group. Many of the decisions made in the company are thus as a result of discussions from workers which makes them feel involved in the affairs of the company hence loyalty.

The employees in Google are given recognition for their minor and large contributions in the company. Google has put in place reward formalities such as the Founders Award which makes their employees motivated to deliver their best. The company nevertheless rewards even employees who fail but are hardworking in order to ensure all employees feel they are in an inclusive team. This culture of appreciation makes the employees fearless and make them willing to take on risks and try new ideas without the fear of failing. This way, the company is able to come up with new inventions and advancements which keeps Google always ahead of its competitors.

Another important culture in Google is its good association with the community outside of work (Jihoon, 2013). The company has established a reputable relationship with the immediate community which definitely indicates that they have a good organization culture. The company has gone a step further by establishing events like Googlefest which enables the employees to interact and contribute to their community. This way, they are able to have meaningful impacts in the society and therefore making their work more enjoyable and fulfilling. The workers are also able to create relationships amongst themselves outside of work which translates to the success of the company.

The above described are some of the organizational behaviors that indeed have contributed to Googles unquestionable success. Other companies can also learn from this organizations culture in order to improve the performance of their own.
